How to get to Portsmouth and Anthocon

Portsmouth is on the New Hampshire Seacoast, roughly one hour north of Boston, an hour east of Manchester, N.H., and an hour south of Portland, Maine. All three of these towns have general airports, so attendees can choose whichever is easier or cheaper for them to fly into.

Logan International Airport, Boston 55 minutes

Manchester (NH) Airport 50 minutes

Portland (ME) International Jetport - 50 minutes

Driving Directions

From the south: Take I-95 to Portsmouth, Exit 7. Turn east (right). Drive 1 mile.

From the north: Take I-95 to Portsmouth, Exit 7. Turn east (left). Drive 1 mile.

From the east: Swim across the Atlantic ocean until you hit the Piscataqua River, which separates Maine and New Hampshire. Continue swimming upstream for approx. 3 miles until you come to Portsmouth.

Bus

C & J Trailways. Serves Logan airport and Boston’s South Station. Portsmouth terminal is at Pease International Tradeport — adjacent to Route 33 and near Interstate 95, Exit 3A (about 3 miles from downtown Portsmouth). Also stops in Durham and Newburyport, Mass. Visitors will need taxi or other transportation to and from terminal. (800) 258-7111.

Train

The Downeaster. Four round-trips a day from Dover, Durham, Exeter to Portland, Maine, and Boston. Get to the Exeter or Dover station by rental car, taxi or the COAST bus system. 603-743-5777. Train stations are not near the airports, but shuttles and cabs to them are easily found.

Local Bus

COAST Trolley and Bus Information. Bus transportation between various points in Portsmouth and Pease Air Terminal, Transportation Center, Fox Run Mall, Marshall’s Mall. (603) 427-5091.
